• Be Genuine.
• Be open, but not overbearing.
• Like HER! It might just start as a physical attraction but do NOT let it stay that way.
• Date her like you want to be her friend (so no pressure), but treat her differently (so show interest, too).
• Be RESPECTUFUL!
• Sit close to her (but not uncomfortably so).
• Complement her. Look for something SPECIFIC she is wearing or has done that makes her look nice and casually mention it to her.
• Don’t say things like “beautiful”, “pretty”, “lovely”, “gorgeous”, “good looking”, etc. all the time. You’ll make them meaningless. Then when you really want her to know she is looking exceptionally nice, she won’t know if you REALLY mean it.
• Look AT HER (Don’t be creepy, but make sure you spend a little time to appreciate the beautiful young lady you are starting to like).
• Find casual excuses to see her often (You don’t ALWAYS have to go on a “DATE”, you could even just drop her a balloon you “happened to find,” or share some ice cream you didn’t want to eat all by yourself).
• Texting and calling are okay, but in person almost ALWAYS wins!
• However, don’t appear desperate.
• BE YOURSELF!!
• Get excited about the little things (appropriately).
• **PAY ATTENTION TO HER (remember good songs, movies, books, activities, treats, hobbies, fetishes, etc. she mentions).**
• When Holidays roll around, get her some funny little toys or treats that you remember she likes (CHEAP), but then get one nicer thing to let her know you care.
• Surprise her!
• Make eye contact, but don’t stare her down.
• Do not let her catch you checking her out (at least, not right at first). Or just DON’T “check her out,” just notice how nice she looks (shoes, necklace, hair, shirt, skirt, bracelet, ring, etc.).
• **HUG HER, AND DON’T HOLD ON TOO LONG, BUT DON’T JUST RELEASE HER, EITHER.**
• Park your car close to her car. Sometimes it’s even fun to lean against your opposite cars and talk. It’s intimate, yet not.
• Ask her about things you could do together, and if she sounds interested, tell her you’ll have to take her to do that someday. Then, SOMEDAY (maybe a couple days or a week or so later) TAKE HER.
• **ENJOY IT WHEN YOU MAKE HER SMILE.**
• Inside jokes are a GOOD thing, but don’t be weird with them.
• Don’t be NEEDY or whiney, but let her know you want her around.
• When you hold her hand for the fist time, do NOT plan on kissing her that same night! Almost every girl is warned that “holding hands leads to kissing.” Prove them wrong. Hold her hand because you WANT to hold her hand, NOT so you can kiss her later.
• **BE FUN ABOUT HOLDING HANDS. MAKE IT SERIOUSLY MEAN SOMETHING, BUT BE SOMEWHAT CASUAL ABOUT IT.**
• I would recommend your first kiss take place while she is in your arms (like after a hug, but you haven’t let go yet). Then, don’t stick around TOO long, but don’t run off yet, either. This gives her time to absorb and react, but also time to dream and relive the moment.
• If you know she is only somewhere because you are there, be sure to let her know (verbally) you are glad she came (withOUT mentioning that you know she is only there to be with you).
• **SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE. IF YOU DON’T, YOU’LL BLOW IT!!**
• **BE AVAILABLE TO HER, BUT NOT TOO AVAILABLE.**
• Have your own life and plans, but neatly fit her into it, or find ways to fit into her life and plans.
• Make your kisses soft, sweet, CLEAN, and slow, but not TOO slow (at least, not at first).
• Most “good” girls do NOT call (and sometimes even text-or at least start the texts) boys they might like (first), so CONTACT HER!!
• **BE KIND AND NICE AND GENUINE TO HER FRIENDS, BUT DO NOT BE TOO FRIENDLY (bring them funny things if she invites you to their Birthday Party-gag gift type things, but don’t do things like hug or text her friends all the time-if you can avoid it).
• Asking HER friends for advice CAN be a VERY lose-lose situation. Girls tend to be jealous creatures, so friends may give you bad advice purposely. OR, they may give good advice, but when she finds out you did something REALLY cute and it wasn’t your idea (it was her friend’s), it’s never as good.
• Be a good example.
• Don’t be overly perfect. Be yourself, and don’t try too hard, but still put forth effort.
• When she is sad or tired or sick, and it is okay, HOLD HER in your arms (but don’t take advantage of the situation by kissing her too much. Girls are very easy under these conditions. BE RESPECTFUL!!).
• Don’t rush the whole “I love you” thing.
• Make sure when you DO say you love her, you REALLY mean it, and have maybe even THOUGHT about doing something about it (like marriage), but DON’T rush! Or don’t come right out and immediately speak of marriage and such. Give it some time. Then, introduce the topic by joking about rings or temples or something along those lines.
• Most importantly be YOURSELF and be HONEST.
Hey! I really like the idea. I agree that many people struggle with figuring out how to act towards a love interest and could definitely use some helpful hints. Way to be!
